phys 401 - Classical mechanics
Classical mechanics is the study of the motion of particles, collections of particles, and rigid objects. This is a foundational subject that provides the basis for many areas of advanced physics. Topics include Newton's laws of motion, motion in the presence of drag forces, linear and angular momentum, energy, oscillations, Lagrangian dynamics, central-force motion, and motion in non-inertial frames.
